Who are we?
Mango in a Pot is a community ceramic studio nestled into Amsterdam’s cozy De Baarsjes neighborhood. Originally founded in 2023, Mango in a Pot continues to evolve and expand as a place of true connection and creativity. We offer studio membership for committed artists looking for a place to practice their craft. In addition to that we offer personalized workshops and fun community building events.

Sam Sutton
FOUNDER
Sam founded Mango in a Pot with one goal in mind: to build a welcoming community of creative minds and to enjoy the process of making together. When she’s not working with clay, she spends time gardening or foraging in the woods. Her deep connection to nature continues to shape the spirit and foundations of the studio.

Alyona Sviridenko
STUDIO OWNER
Alyona first came to Mango in a Pot as a member. Over time it became one of her favourite places to make - and a community she cared about. When the chance came to take over the studio, she wanted to keep what makes it special and help it run sustainably.
She enjoys bringing a structured, thoughtful approach to how the studio is run - focusing on clear systems, fairness, and smooth day-to-day operations, while keeping the creative process open, flexible, and led by the members. Alongside ceramics, Alyona also enjoys other hands-on crafts, including knitting.
Her aim is to keep Mango in a Pot a welcoming, well-organised space that supports creativity and experimentation.
Why Mango In a Pot?
Mango in a Pot is a small, independent ceramics studio built around shared making, care, and mutual respect. It’s a place to slow down, work with your hands, and feel comfortable returning week after week.
We focus on creating a calm, welcoming environment where people can explore ceramics at their own pace and feel part of a thoughtful creative community. By supporting a community-run studio, you’re choosing a space that values connection, sustainability, and long-term care - both for the people who make here and the studio itself.
